The other week, Dan Auerbach, of the Black Keys released his first solo album 'Keep it Hid'. I purchased it, eagerly wanting to know what he would sound like without his other half (Patrick Carney) on drums. To say that I was blown away with what I heard would be an immense understatement.
He completely rocks out in Black Keys fashion with songs like "The Prowl" (below) and "Street Walkin" but then he can take his grainy vocals and turn out heart-wrenching songs like "When the Night Comes" and "Whispered Words (Pretty Lies)." The latter of which is definitely my favorite song on the whole album and gives me chills.
It kills me that such talented guys like this remain relatively unknown (outside of indie music circles) and dudes like John Mayer are famous.. *steps off soapbox*
